Linda Strugala Showcase

I have always been a "crafty" person and over the years have taken up sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, paper crafting, gourd carving, pottery and ceramics. I still dabble in those areas, but back in 1998 I received a beaded necklace and earrings as a gift. I was intrigued and immediately took it apart to see how it had been made and thought "I can do this."

The wide variety of color, materials and techniques utilized were attractive to me and I began buying magazines, books and surfing the internet looking for instruction and guidance. I have taken a class or two over the years, but for the most part I'm self-taught.

I do chain maille (weaving with jump rings), Kumihimo (Japanese braiding), bead stitching, but my favorite way to create is just free form design. I go through my stash and start gathering a bunch of beads, wire, etc. and see where they take me. I love "playing" and continue working with other medium just to keep my design energy fresh and my creative muse from getting bored.

There's always something laying on my work space waiting for my return.
